The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the role and significance of schools within the contemporary educational environment, their strategic orientations, key functions, and modern approaches to the management of general education institutions. The study examines factors that contribute to improving the effectiveness of school management systems, and, based on empirical data, presents well-grounded conclusions regarding the organization of managerial activities. In addition, practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the managerial performance of school leaders in accordance with current educational demands are systematized.
Societal expectations toward schools are continuously transforming in response to global socio-economic processes. In this context, the primary objective of the modern school is to educate and develop an independent, competitive individual capable of functioning effectively in new socio-economic conditions. Achieving this objective necessitates a fundamental modernization of educational management systems and the creation of conditions that support learners’ self-development and independent activity. These changes have led to the formation of a new educational policy and the transition from a traditional static school management model to a flexible, dynamic, and innovation-oriented framework.
Within this context, the integration of the national education system into the global educational space is viewed as a natural and objective process. This integration requires the identification of key directions for educational internationalization, thoughtful adoption of international best practices, awareness of global educational trends, and the articulation of a national stance in the context of educational globalization. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of a balanced and reflective approach to the implementation of innovative educational models.
