This article comprehensively examines the trends of economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan and its impact on the environment. The study analyzes the main factors influencing the country’s economic development, including the expansion of industrial production, intensive use of natural resources, development of the energy sector, and urbanization processes. In addition, the impact of economic growth on the environment is considered, including such pressing issues as air pollution, deterioration of water and land resources, and disruption of ecological balance.

The article identifies the relationship between economic development and environmental sustainability and substantiates the importance of the principles of sustainable development. It emphasizes the necessity of environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources in ensuring economic growth. The issues of reducing the negative impact of industrial activities on the environment, complying with environmental standards, and strengthening environmental protection measures are also discussed.

The research results show that ensuring environmental safety, improving environmental protection measures, and enhancing environmental quality can contribute to achieving the country’s long-term sustainable development. In addition, the need to improve state environmental policy, implement green economy principles, and consider environmental factors in economic development strategies is justified.
