The article explores strategic approaches to the planning and organization of recreational areas within the landscape structure of the city of Aktobe (Kazakhstan), aimed at improving the quality of urban life. Particular attention is given to the principles of sustainable development, biodesign, and the multifunctionality of urban landscapes. The paper takes into account the climatic, sociocultural, and ecological characteristics of the region and proposes design principles tailored to local specifics. In the context of urbanization and climatic challenges, the formation of a comfortable and sustainable urban environment in Central Asia is of particular relevance.

The article provides a detailed analysis of the key aspects of developing effective recreational zones, including: adaptation to natural conditions through the introduction of drought-resistant phytocenoses and innovative water-saving technologies; ensuring social accessibility and inclusivity of recreational spaces; and the creation of ecological corridors to support biodiversity. A range of innovative solutions is presented, such as systems for rainwater collection and recirculation, vertical greening technologies, and the creation of microclimatic zones with regulated environmental parameters.

Special attention is paid to the integration of urban planning experience with local cultural and historical traditions, as well as the region’s natural and climatic features. The article proposes a conceptual model for the development of recreational spaces that integrates ecological, social, and technological aspects of landscape design.
