The article is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of the legal profession in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies and the increasing complexity of modern forms of crime. The study focuses on changes in the model of professional competencies of lawyers caused by the transition of society to a digital reality, the development of information technologies, and the globalization of legal processes. The digitalization of social relations, the automation of administrative and law-enforcement procedures, as well as the growth of transnational and cyber forms of crime, are forming a fundamentally new environment for the functioning of law and legal activity.

Particular attention is paid to the analysis of new professional competencies of lawyers that emerge at the intersection of law, information technology, criminology, and management sciences. The article examines two key groups of competencies — hard skills and soft skills — which determine the professional effectiveness of specialists in the context of the digital transformation of the legal system. At the same time, the importance of so-called soft skills — flexible supra-professional competencies — is increasing. These include communication abilities, critical thinking, public speaking skills, the ability to conduct negotiations, and conflict resolution skills. As a result of the analysis, the article concludes that the modern legal profession is undergoing a profound transformation. A model of a “hybrid lawyer” is being formed, combining fundamental legal training with digital, analytical, and communicative competencies. Such a specialist is capable of effectively counteracting modern forms of crime, ensuring the protection of human rights, and contributing to the development of the rule of law in the context of the digitalization of society.
