The article discusses the genera (ethnonyms) formed by repetition (parallelism) in the system of Kazakh ethnonyms. Based on the materials of the Kazakh and Karakalpak clans, the author examines homogeneous and similar clan names using the glottochronological (or lexical-statistical) method in order to optimize the understanding and analysis of the methods of studying the parallel clan names of the two peoples. As a result of the study, it was shown that repeated (parallel) ethnonyms are one of the oldest historical and cultural connections, as well as one of the oldest linguistic phenomena. It can be concluded that ethnonyms created by repetition in the system of Kazakh ethnonyms have had kinship and intertribal connections throughout history, even in neighboring habitats and settlements. It is also proposed to study ethnonyms in close relation to the history and culture, language, and literature of the Turkic peoples (Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, and Turkmen), as well as to study tribal customs and worldviews in the system of Kazakh ethnonyms. The author argues that the analysis and study of repeated or related genera in the system of Kazakh ethnonyms as pages of the lives of ancestors who held the banner of unity, heroism, and statehood on the path to the integrity of the Kazakh-Karakalpak people is one of the current problems of Kazakh onomastics.
