This article is devoted to the analysis of the artistic nature of satirical poetics in the works of Utezhan Nurgaliyev, a prominent representative of Kazakh poetry of the second half of the twentieth century. The study focuses on the ideological and aesthetic functions of satire and humor in the poet’s works, as well as their interaction with civic lyricism and philosophical reflection. Utezhan Nurgaliyev elevates satire from a mere means of generating comic effect to a powerful artistic tool aimed at critically examining moral and ethical values of society and exposing flaws in human nature.

The article analyzes the poet’s satirical poems such as «Duniekoyz», «A Person Who Writes Poetry», «The Complainer», «I Am a Talented Poet», and «To a Talentless Playwright» from the perspective of poetic integrity, image construction, irony, sarcasm, typification, and the use of specific personal names. Through satirical images, the poet criticizes the character of his contemporaries, literary conformism, opportunism, false authority, and spiritual emptiness within the literary environment. It is demonstrated that humor in Nurgaliyev’s poetry goes beyond light laughter and is closely connected with deep social and philosophical content.

The research employs comparative-typological methods, poetic analysis, and textual interpretation. The findings of the study make it possible to determine the place and artistic significance of Utezhan Nurgaliyev’s satirical poetics in Kazakh literature and contribute to the theoretical understanding of the development of Kazakh poetry.
