The article examines the problem of drug addiction among adolescents from a psychological and pedagogical point of view. The study analyzes the main causes and factors contributing to the spread of drug addiction among adolescents, including social, psychological and pedagogical aspects.

Special attention is paid to the issues of primary prevention, the formation of tolerance to negative impacts, and raising awareness of the level of knowledge in the field of healthy lifestyle. The main purpose of the article is to study the causes of drug use by adolescents and to consider the psychological and pedagogical prevention of drug addiction. The psychological factors and psychological mechanisms of the occurrence and dynamics of drug addiction are comprehensively analyzed.

From the point of view of official narcology, substance abuse in adolescence is characterized by the development of diseases caused by systematic drug use, changes in mental reactivity, the formation of physiological dependence, as well as a complex of psychological and social consequences. The strategy of preventing dependence on psychotropic substances is aimed at reducing risk factors or strengthening factors that reduce susceptibility to diseases.

The main focus of the study is on the pharmacological effects of narcotic substances, the dynamics of physiological processes and somatic changes in adolescence as a result of systematic substance use. Modern approaches to preventive work in educational institutions and the family are considered.
