This article examines the contributions of Rafiga Syzdykova, a prominent figure in Kazakh linguistics, to the establishment of poetic linguistics as an independent discipline. The scholar systematized the nature of poetic language, its developmental stages, terminology, and methodology, laying a foundation for its study within the history of the Kazakh literary language. Her works, such as "The Language of Yasawi’s Hikmets" and "Abay’s Verbal Artistry," are pivotal in identifying the genetic foundations of the common literary language of Turkic peoples and the written Kazakh literary language. Syzdykova’s research holistically explores the language of personalities (Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Abay) in connection with their social environment, societal conditions, poetic schools, and linguistic traditions. She categorized linguistic tools, analyzed their usage through linguistic statistics, and provided precise definitions for terms like epithet, periphrasis, and symbol.

Syzdykova’s scientific approach rests on analyzing the genetic roots of language, poetic schools, expressive tools, and cognitive aspects. She viewed poetic language as a synthesis of aesthetic, communicative, and informative functions, asserting that its artistic excellence stems from the harmony of content and form. Her studies paved the way for advancements in linguistic poetics, semantics, and cognitive linguistics. Additionally, Syzdykova enriched terminology by leveraging the potential of the national language and made scientific discourse accessible to a broader audience. Her works remain a valuable methodological resource for contemporary research in Kazakh linguistics.
