The article considers the problem of the development of initiative speech in children with a general
underdevelopment of speech, since they suffer from the entire intellectual sphere, many do not know how to turn to
another person on their own initiative, sometimes even hesitate to respond accordingly if someone addresses them.
They cannot maintain and develop the established contact, adequately express their sympathy, empathy, therefore they
often conflict or close in isolation. The low level of initiative speech limits the possibility of children's self-realization,
does not provide free communication, and this, in turn, does not contribute to the development of speech-cognitive,
cognitive activity, interferes with the acquisition of knowledge, and negatively affects personal development and
behavior.
