Today, the implementation of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan" is today one of the priority areas. In this regard, within the framework of the program, a program of active transition to digital broadcasting is being actively implemented with the direct participation and support of the national operator in the field of television and radio broadcasting - Kazteleradio JSC.
It should be noted that digital broadcasting is carried out in stages, but experts already predict that this will give an impetus to the development of new service markets and a new stage in the marketing struggle of channels.
The main task in such an important issue as the implementation of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan" is the construction of radio and television stations. Currently, 546 of the 827 RTSs included in the project have been built. Last year, 52 of them were commissioned: in Northern Kazakhstan - 13, in Kyzylorda and Karaganda - 16, Atyrau - 8, in East
Kazakhstan - 6, in Aktobe - 5, in Akmola region - 4.
In general, the project is being implemented in stages, for example, on February 1, Almaty switched to digital
terrestrial television. Also, a number of regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan switched to this system, analogue broadcasting was disabled in Mangistau, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Almaty, Pavlodar, Kostanay regions and Shymkent. The project will be completed on December 1 this year in Nur-Sultan and the Karaganda region. In 2023, it is planned to complete a project to introduce digital terrestrial television broadcasting in the country, which will cover 95% of the population with digital broadcasting.
