This article examines the processes of political socialization of youth in Kazakhstan within the context of the digital environment. The main objective of the study is to analyze the impact of digital technologies and social media on the formation of political consciousness, civic engagement, and political behavior among young people. In the modern information society, the internet and online platforms have become the primary sources of information, significantly influencing the values, attitudes, and political orientations of the younger generation. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research techniques. The findings indicate that the majority of young people consume political information through platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This shift has led to a transformation in political communication, with visual and short-form content becoming dominant. At the same time, the study identifies several risks, including the spread of misinformation, the «echo chamber» effect, and the rise of fragmented or «clip-based» thinking. The article introduces and theoretically substantiates the concepts of «hybrid-digital political culture» and «soft political socialization», highlighting their relevance in the Kazakhstani context. It also explores the differences in political participation between urban and rural youth. The results demonstrate that the digital environment plays a crucial role in enhancing youth political engagement. However, the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening media literacy and critical thinking skills to mitigate emerging information-related risks.
