This article examines the role and influence of large industrial enterprises on the development of the regional economy of the Aktobe region. The author raises the issue of a high degree of sectoral orientation of the economy, related to the historically established industrial specialization. The work reflects a picture of how industrial companies participate in the formation of the budget system, the development of the labor market and the environmental situation. Attention was drawn to the generalized characterization of entrepreneurship without specific reference to certain enterprises. The theoretical significance of the article lies in a deep understanding of the theory of regional economics, how large market participants contribute not only as a source of income, but also as institutional actors of future innovative development. The practical part ensures the universality of the conclusions obtained, which can be applied in various practical conditions and in places with the same production structure. Local authorities can also consider the results in the development of programs to support entrepreneurship and other socio-economic areas.The conclusion is that it is necessary to further develop the relationship between large business and the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises in order to strengthen the economic stability of the region.
