The article is dedicated to the life and work of one of the most unpopular presidents in the history of
the country - the 29th President of the United States, Republican Warren G. Harding. Based on an analysis of the English-language historiography of the problem, the authors study the features of origin, education, the most important stages of a journalistic and political career, as well as the circumstances of the tragic death of the protagonist of this biographical essay during the presidential duties in 1923. The phenomenon of success of W. Harding during the presidential election of 1920, the mood prevailing in American society in the post-war period is examined in detail. It was concluded that there is a need to move away from stereotypes in assessing the life path and creative heritage of the 29th President of the United States, an objective analysis of the events of American history a hundred years ago.
