The article deals the issues of hunger in the Aktobe province in 1921-1925, its causes and consequences, as well as the fight against hunger and its results. On the basis of archival documents, the number of starving, sick and dead people is indicated, as well as the social and living conditions of the population are described. The
work on the fight against hunger of the provincial committee and commission is narrated. The problems of starving orphans, the condition of orphanages, children's canteens are considered.
