The article discusses the use, composition and defects of electrodes used in high-power ore-thermal
furnaces. Wrong choice of electrodes during operation or insufficiently sintered output of electrodes from the contact
cheeks leads to a serious accident requiring a long stop of the furnace, therefore, ways to solve these problems were
given.
